TCCS announces the scholarship winners for 2015. These awards were presented to Kathleen De Rosa, Joseph Ferraro, Frankie Giampietro (missing in picture), and Cassandra Salmieri.
Kathleen De Rosa, from Port St. Lucie High School, has performed staring roles in PSL musicals, participated in New York City drama workshops and sang on stage with the cast of “Motown” on Broadway. She is a soprano, a dancer, a member of the National Honors Society and volunteers teaching drama to elementary school children. Katie will attend University of Central Florida in their BFA Musical Theatre program.
Joseph Ferraro, from South Fork High School, plays the saxophone, and sings tenor in the Carillon Singers. He has performed in the jazz and marching bands. His drama teacher describes him as “one of the most talented students I have ever been fortunate enough to direct.” He is the oldest of seven children and is dedicated to his family. He plans to study music education at the University of Tampa.
Frankie Giampietro, from Jensen Beach High School, is an award- winning drummer who has been accepted with a partial scholarship at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. His band director describes him as “very talented, pleasant and hardworking.” Frankie has played his drums with the Treasure Coast Community Singers in the past.
Cassandra Salmieri, from South Fork High School, has received superior honors as a soprano soloist at the state level. She has sung in two advanced choirs, performed in school musicals and served as the President of the drama club. Her choral director describes her as “an exceptional young lady.” Cassandra has not yet decided on her college, but wants to channel her love of music into educating children.
