TCCS Mission Statement

“The Treasure Coast Community Singers is devoted to keeping people singing, creating purposeful music for the enrichment of the Treasure Coast.”

Welcome to the Treasure Coast Community Singers!

COME SING WITH US!  Our four distinct performing groups offer a place for everyone from kindergarten to senior citizens. The Community Chorus is open to everyone high school age and older, with no skills or experience required, just a love of singing! Chamber Singers is open to everyone interested, but does require the ability to read music and a commitment to work on more challenging music. The Youth Chorus is for young singers in grades K-4 and the Middle School Chorus is for singers in grades 5-8.

Concerts are performed from October to May with a separate registration for each of the six concert sessions.

In-person rehearsals are Mondays: 5:45-6:45pm for Chamber Singers and 6:45-8:00pm for Community Singers at Trinity United Methodist Church in Jensen Beach. Tuesdays: 3:30-4:30pm at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Stuart.

Treasure Coast Community Singers - Keeping People Singing For Over 20 Years!

The Treasure Coast Community Singers (TCCS) began with six “founding” members in June of 2003, with the first performance in August that year. We have grown to multiple choruses and represent all ages with children as young as 6 to adults of – well, let’s just say all ages.

TCCS is dedicated to nurturing the musical skills of its members by emphasizing the development of proper technique and the blending of all parts into a true ensemble sound.

We currently have three separate performing groups plus smaller ensemble groups who are available to perform at various community or private functions.

Under the direction of our CEO and Board of Directors, working with team leaders and team members, the organization continues to grow. The dedication of both our singer and non-singer volunteers enables TCCS to perform six concert series each year for the entertainment of the Treasure Coast. Our singers and members represent a cross section of the Treasure Coast population united by the love of music and singing. Some members have been singing with us since 2003 and every year more new voices join. Whatever their background, we welcome everyone.

The Community Chorus and the Youth Chorus do not require any auditions, just a desire to sing and learn. Our original Chorus, the Community Chorus, continues to be the largest performing group. Open to all ages (high school age and older) and all skill levels of singers. Performing four concert series a year, it continues to amaze the audience with beautiful music, mostly comprised of classic pop, rock & a few gospel classics.

Our Youth Chorus, designed for students in grades K-8, offers young singers the opportunity to improve vocal skills and develop their knowledge of music in a choral setting. This chorus currently performs with the Community Chorus in their concerts, as well as participating in other community events and opportunities. They primarily sing lighter classic pop, with the older singers working on more challenging pieces, and both choruses work in multiple parts as well as performing some acapella pieces. If you know of children in grades K-8 that would enjoy learning more about music and singing, please let us know – we’d love to have them!

In 2009 TCCS launched Classical Chorus, now known as the Chamber Singers. Chamber Singers is an auditioned chorus focusing on more challenging music. There is an expectation of the ability to read music and the commitment to master more difficult compositions. This group has performed two concert series each year since then and has also been honored to perform in combination with other Choruses in New York (Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Center), Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and Florence, Italy.

We are very lucky to have wonderful accompanists for the adult choruses. The recent collaboration with Indian River Pops Orchestra is another terrific opportunity for both our groups of musicians. We also hire some local performers and soloists, as we try to support and showcase local artists.

TCCS not only highlights the musical talents of area residents, it promotes music education for area youth by providing annual scholarship opportunities for area students graduating from a local high school who are going on to study music at a college or university. A portion of each of our concert ticket sales is dedicated to our Scholarship Fund. Some of our Scholarship winners have returned to us, singing with one of our choruses or as soloists!

During the 2017-2018 season, TCCS began reaching out to other area non-profits, offering them a chance to appear at concerts to share their mission & story with our audiences. Our Spotlight program has developed into a way to allow us to ‘share the stage’ with local non-profit groups who provide assistance, services and opportunities to those in need throughout the Treasure Coast area – supporting more than just music in our community. If you know of a local non-profit group who would like to ‘share the stage’, please let us know!

TCCS performs primarily in the Stuart/Jensen Beach area, where we have been fortunate to have been able to lease rehearsal space for many years. We are always actively reviewing additional performance locations throughout the Treasure Coast area, so more people can come to know us and join us as audience – or as members! Should you know of anyone who would just love to build us a true acoustical performance hall, please let us know, as it’s something we don’t have here on the Treasure Coast!

Each year we offer an opportunity for local businesses to support the Arts through advertising in our concert program booklet that is handed out to every attendee at each one of our concerts from October through May. If you missed the opportunity to advertise with us, a donation is welcomed at any time and will appear in the individual concert supplements.

Through its twenty-year existence, TCCS is responsible for bringing together people who love to sing, fostering long lasting friendships, entertaining over 10,000 Treasure Coast residents with over 100 concerts, awarding of over $35,000 in scholarships, and supporting our local professional musicians.

TCCS is a Non-profit 501(c)3 Organization and complies with the ADA. For any accommodation contact our voicemail at (772) 224-8807.

Grants supporting TCCS were provided by: Florida Department of State Division of Arts and Culture, the Community Foundation of Palm Beach and Martin Counties, and Women Supporting the Arts.
