Founder/CEO

Dr. Douglas P. Jewett is the founder/CEO of Treasure Coast Community Singers, a community choir dedicated to Keeping People Singing. This choir began in 2003 with six founding members and has grown to include over 150 singers in any given year. The choir has performed over 100 concerts in its 19 years of existence.


Dr. Jewett has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory, a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting, and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership. He has 42 years of experience as a Minister of Music in churches in Tennessee and in Florida. He has taught in the public school system (K-12) and at Indian River State College. He maintains a private voice studio as well as serves as Conductor of the Indian River Pops Orchestra. He is also the music director of Mariner Sands Chapel in Hobe Sound.


Dr. Jewett considers Tennessee his home state even though he was born in Minnesota. He lived with his parents and 5 siblings in Ohio, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, and North Carolina before leaving for college and beginning his career in music. He moved his family to Stuart, FL in 2001 to become Minister of Music at what was then North Stuart Baptist Church. As an ordained minister, Dr. Jewett regularly participates in the Martin County Blessing of the Fleet. He was awarded the MARTies award as Performing Artist of the Year, 2010, and was given the Paul Harris Fellow Recognition, 2016.


Dr. Jewett has been married to his wife, Sharon, for 40 years. They have two daughters and four grandchildren.
